Darwen Vale has a proud and rich history, with thousands of former students going on to pursue exciting and varied careers across a huge range of industries and professions.
Whether you left us recently or many years ago, you remain an important part of the Darwen Vale community. We are always delighted to hear from former students and learn about the journeys they have taken since leaving school.
We are launching our Darwen Vale Alumni Network to help reconnect with former students and create opportunities for our current learners to benefit from the experiences, advice and expertise of those who once sat in the very same classrooms.
There are many ways you can get involved.

1. Come Back and Visit Us
We love welcoming former students back into school. Whether you'd simply like to have a look around, meet staff, share your memories and tell us about your career journey, we'd be delighted to hear from you.

3. Lead a Working Lunch
Our Working Lunches are informal 30-minute sessions designed for small groups of students who are particularly interested in a specific career area.
These sessions provide students with the opportunity to ask questions, gain insights into different professions and learn more about potential future pathways.

5. Support Our Aldridge Connect Programme
Our Aldridge Connect programme provides meaningful experiences for large groups of students and year groups, helping them broaden their horizons and better understand the world of work.
You may be able to support by:

Hosting a workplace visit

Offering tours of your organisation

Facilitating careers-related activities and experiences

2. Deliver a Careers Assembly
Could you inspire the next generation?
We regularly invite visitors to speak to year groups about their education, career pathway and experiences in the workplace. Students always enjoy hearing first-hand stories from people who once attended Darwen Vale.

4. Support School Events
Throughout the year we run a range of events that benefit greatly from support from employers, professionals and former students.
One example is our annual Year 11 Mock Interview Programme, where volunteers help students develop their interview skills, confidence and employability.

6. Support Aldridge Connect+
Our Aldridge Connect+ programme provides bespoke opportunities for smaller groups of students who may benefit from additional support and enrichment.
This could involve hosting a small workplace visit for around 12 students, providing a tailored experience or helping students develop confidence, aspirations and employability skills.
