Welcome Back!

Dear Parent / Carer,

Start of Autumn Term 2016

I’d like to extend a warm welcome to everyone at the start of this new academic year.  I hope that you have all had an enjoyable summer.

In the final newsletter last term, we said goodbye to a number of staff and now would like to take the opportunity to welcome the new members of our team.  Mr Heatley and Mr Grand join the senior leadership team as Vice Principals, Mr Nelson is our new 2nd in Science, Miss Mahmood and Mr Butler have also joined us in the Science department, Miss Vali and Mr Foster are our new English teachers, Mrs Langton joins the Maths department and Miss Brigham and Mr Weber are both teaching Languages.

We are extremely delighted to report that the GCSE exams in the summer yielded our best results for 3 years!  We have continued to make improvements at a time when, nationally, it seems that good grades are becoming more difficult to attain.  Amongst all this, we can also report that more students gained A*s & As this year than they have done in previous years.  Congratulations to everyone that made it happen.

I’d also just like to remind you about our new platform for setting and monitoring homework – Show My Homework.  This is a web based tool that staff, pupils and parents can all use to see all the information you need about the homework that has been set.  Please visit the school website and follow the link for more details.

We are looking forward to a successful school year and, as always, if there’s anything that you need to discuss, please do not hesitate to contact the appropriate person at school.

Yours sincerely,

D J Hallam

Acting Principal
