Vale Skiers Head To The USA

33 students from years 8-11, five former students and four staff from Vale will be leaving for a once in a lifetime skiing trip on Sunday 27th December.

Flying to Boston they will travel on to Loon & Waterville in New Hampshire, staying at the Snowy Owl Inn for five days skiing. The party will then travel to New York City to spend 2nd January 2016 enjoying the sights of The Big Apple, including a 4 hour bus tour, Top of The Rock Experience, Dinner at The Hard Rock Café in Times Square and Ice Skating in front of the big Christmas tree at the Rockefeller Centre.

In the past Vale skiers have experienced Le Courbier, France, Les Menuires, also in France, and Pila, in Italy, so this year’s trip to the US is an exciting opportunity to venture onto North American snow!

In preparation pupils have had the opportunity to spend 12 hours learning a little nearer to home on the slopes at Rossendale Ski Slope. We have 20 pupils who are skiing for the first time so this time has been really useful as well as fun.

You can follow our intrepid skiers on Twitter @DVHSSki. And for any pupils who fancy having a go next year, information will soon be available on the 2017 Ski Trip to Courmayeur in Italy.
