Vale Nominated As Local Heritage Asset

Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council is drawing up a list of heritage assets local significance which the Local Authority and the local community have decided have local heritage merit. These include buildings that make a positive contribution to the local historic environment of Blackburn with Darwen either by historic association, architectural value, townscape value or archaeological interest. A list is in the process of being prepared to date.

With our long heritage we are very pleased that Darwen Vale High School has been identified as having special local interest and will be considered for “formal adoption” by the Council on 23rd September.
Between the 10th and 13th September the school will be one of 20 different sites taking part in Darwen Heritage Weekend. More information at www.heritageopendays.org.uk
