A number of our year 9 and 10 students have recently started a programme with SkillForce, a national children’s education charity that uses the team building and problem solving skills of former armed forces personnel and other talented individuals to deliver inspirational programmes to young people.
SkillForce will deliver a curriculum and activities that will provide our young people with the knowledge, skills, experience and self belief to aspire and achieve. During the programme the students will study the Wider Key Skills and the ASDAN Employability Certificate. These qualifications will help prepare our students for the world of work and are highly valued by employers and can make a real difference to an individual’s work and life.
Our students have already made an impact on the SkillForce Instructors, Steve Rooney and Stevie McArthur. They said “The students are a credit to the school and are looking forward to working with them and that members of staff have made them feel really welcome”.
