Following a study of the Roman Empire, year 7 students did an in depth study about the Roman army. Students were asked the simple question ‘Why were the Roman army so good?’ Students then participated in a variety of tasks to find an answer to the question. This involved source investigation, re-enacting combat situations, looking at techniques that the Romans used to practice as well as independent research and use of media clips.
To complete the task students were asked to make a piece of equipment the Roman soldier had, the results are on display in Mr Smalley’s History room and there are some amazing pieces of work! Well done year 7!
