Newquay, here we come!

During a recent assembly in school the details of the year 9’s end of year trip were announced. Following the success of the recent Lakeside trip, all the pupils in the year group had been looking forward to hearing where their next adventure would take them. There was much excitement on the heart steps when Mr Smalley declared that the trip would take the pupils to Newquay in Cornwall.

This trip promises to be an amazing experience that will have pupils taking part in a wide range of beach related activities, from surfing to zorbing, as well as coasteering and beach safaris. Full Board accommodation will be provided in a beachside hotel, with a range of evening activities that includes a beach BBQ.

This trip provides not only a great opportunity for pupils to experience something different, but a firm focus will also be placed on personal development be it instilling a teamwork ethic or fostering and enhancing leadership skills. Indeed during the course of the visit the pupils will have the opportunity to gain an actual surfing qualification, proving that Darwen vale always seeks to develop pupils in every way possible. So Year 9’s get your surf boards on the roof rack and count the days till July.
