As a reward for their hard work during year 8, 40 students ventured to the Lakeside Outdoor Education Centre near Ulverston for 4 days of fun, adventure and learning. The students (and staff) took part in a range of activities from canoeing on Windermere to climbing as well as learning how to start fires and how to build shelters. The trip was a fantastic experience for all who attended. All the pupils developed important skills like team building, communication and leadership. They also learned a great deal about each other and themselves as people. It was great to spend 3 nights under canvas on the banks of Windermere and create life long memories during this time. The pupils were a credit to themselves, their parents and Darwen Vale.
