Blood Brothers

Having played its debut performance in Liverpool in 1983, the Liverpool Empire Theatre was certainly the most apt venue to see the international smash hit stage show- Blood Brothers!
On Wednesday 28th September, 100 Key Stage 4 pupils watched Mickey Johnstone and Edward Lyons, who were separated at birth, grow up as ‘Blood Brothers’, unaware of the secret that surrounded them.
Laughter, tears and pleas of “Tell me it’s not true” echoed around the theatre. This culminated in a well-deserved standing ovation at the finale – a truly spectacular performance by all the cast.
Year 11’s especially valued the performance as it is now part of the new GCSE English Literature curriculum. What a memorable experience for all involved!
