A Team Football

As ever the football season is a hectic time for DVHS as we play in local county and national competitions for both Boys and Girls.

The Y7 team have started very brightly making it through to the second round of the county cup with wins over Pleckgate, St Bedes and St.Wilfrids. They play St.Michaels of Chorley in the next round.

The Y8 team have played two league games, unfortunately losing both to a very good DACA team, They were unlucky in a high scoring game to Westholme. Plenty of games left and we still have the county cup to play.

The Y9 team have played one game vs Witton and through a Corben Ginley hat-trick, they managed to grasp a last minute goal to draw 4-4. Next up are BCHS and Westholme.

The Y10 team have played and won in the County Cup vs Unity College and in the English schools vs William Hulme Grammar school. The next rounds are due to be played soon. Their impressive start continued in the league as they beat St.wilfs 4-2. The only blemish on their record is a defeat to DACA 4-3, but the team deserved a lot more out of it.

The Y10 girl’s football began their season with a narrow 2-0 defeat in the English Schools competition. Next up is a home game vs Baines High School in the county cup. Mr Goulding has high hopes for the girls for the rest of the season.
